What is One Yoga USA?
One Yoga USA is a training program dedicated to bringing awareness to the art and diversity of yoga. The tree of Yoga has deep roots and many branches.
Who is the founder of One Yoga USA Teacher Training Program?
Jennyoga, headquartered in Houston, Texas, is honored to be the founder of OneYogaUSA certification training program. Jennifer Buergermeister founded Jennyoga and designed this unique program.
Is OneYogaUSA a nationally recognized certification program?
Yes. The OneYogaUSA training program has three Yoga Alliance approved levels: 300 hour, 500 hour and 1000 hour. After completing the 1000 hour training, the practitioner will receive the Curator of Yoga certification. One Yoga USA specialists and instructors include Nicholai Bachman, Leslie Kominoff, Sadie Nardini, Duncan Wong, among many other master teachers recognized around the globe.
Certification Specifics/Training
I practice yoga and have often considered becoming a teacher. Is One Yoga USA for me?
One Yoga is a full spectrum yoga program offering many branches on the tree of yoga for you to explore. Though you may follow eventually one lineage, at least you will have been exposed to many perspectives on what is yoga. One Yoga USA also gives reverence to the concept of unity. To practice yoga is one thing; to be yoga is another. Understanding the roots and diversity of the tree of yoga helps us to become better practitioners by synthesizing knowledge into wisdom.
I currently am a yoga teacher certified by another program. Can I become certified with One Yoga USA?
We accept several approved 200 & 500 hour programs to continue into the One Yoga USA Program who are certified by Yoga Alliance. However, there is a general yoga exam, a 10 page reflection paper and an application that must be received and approved by our guidance counselors to enter into the Curator of Yoga Program. Anyone can take the modules as continuing education. To become a curator, a test and a 10 page reflection must be successfully completed to begin certification as a Curator of Yoga.
Once certified through One Yoga USA, can I teach yoga at any yoga studio in the US?
It is up to the studios to hire you. Every studio has different hiring rules. We are gaining new “sister” or companion studios every month. This is a prestigious yoga program so we feel confident you will be not only hirable but sought and seen as a desirable candidate.
How does the One Yoga USA training program compare to other training programs?
Simple really! Anyone can seek to become a yoga teacher. But not just anyone can enter and become a Curator of Yoga. We have guidelines and principles that we consider sacred in our program. Our Curator of Yoga program is valued by the teachers, lineages and unique vision or energy that it contributes to the ever growing yoga community.
When will the One Yoga USA training program begin?
The next training will begin in the October of 2012 in Houston, TX and will be held at Jennyoga Studios.
